What are you doing to me?  What is this stuff?

Please help me get it out of my mouth!
I think I'm going to hurl!
So glad we have two more BIG bags of pears in the freezer.....

Christmas Preparations!

Holidays seem so much more exciting now that there's a little one in the house!  Last weekend, I started going through Christmas bins, putting a few things out.  We also put some simple Christmas lights up on the house.

I LOVE naked babies!..ok, he had a diaper on, but I love his rolls!

I had bought that santa hat in a kid's size and it fits Eli's head pretty well!  Yikes!  Needless to say, I've made him wear it a few times...only because it's so gosh darn cute on him.

Watching Daddy put up the Christmas lights!
Thank goodness we don't have a two story house!
Adding bows to the light fixtures.
Putting up Christmas decorations in 80 degree weather is a little depressing; I'm really hoping that it starts to cool down here!

Thanksgiving!

Thought I'd share a couple of pictures from today.  I didn't get many because Ross was busy taking pictures with his camera, which he is going to share with all of us!  Here are a few:

Much to be Thankful For!

Since having Elijah, I always think back to what I was doing a year ago at this time.  A year ago on Thanksgiving, I was 10 weeks pregnant.  Two weeks before Thanksgiving, I had a bout of bleeding that had sent us to the hospital.  It was scary, as it brought back memories of our miscarriage 4 months earlier.  For the next month of my pregnancy, I continued to bleed and that's all that consumed my mind.  It's all I thought about during Thanksgiving, it's all I thought about as we celebrated my father-in-law's 60th birthday, it's all I thought about as we were supposed to be having a good time with family.

This year is SO much different.  We have a healthy baby boy.  Dustin has a new job.  We have a house, food and clothes.  I heard on the radio, that if you have food in your fridge, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of the world....

I leave you with my favorite picture of my two guys.  This is my favorite picture because Dustin looks so proud and happy (a sincere smile)!

Solids!...or not

Dustin and I agreed that we would wait closer to 6 months to start Elijah on solids, but after making baby food, I just couldn't wait to give it a try.  After all, he will be 5 months old tomorrow.

Sitting in my high chair, confused about what's going on

I decided we would skip the rice cereal and go straight to pears because they would taste so sweet and delicious.  I was wrong.  I wish I had a picture of his disgusted face, but I don't.  We do have a video.  I tried to give it to him three times.  Each time, he let his mouth hang open and let it spill out. He also looked like he was going to vomit.  I guess we'll keep trying....

A Relaxing Sunday

We had a relaxing Sunday morning/afternoon at Grandma and Papa's house!  We sat by the pool for awhile....

Eli and Lauren enjoying the beautiful weather!

We can't wait to go swimming for the first time; Grandma has the pool heated and ready for us!

Cousin Sarah loves me so much!

Changes!

Six more days of work...six more days of work...
Now that Dustin has accepted a position at Ascension, I'm growing impatient waiting for him to finish up at Walgreens.  I can't wait for him to be done with working nights (until 10:30), overnight shifts, weekends and holidays!  We can finally have a "normal" family life.  No more putting Eli to sleep by myself.  No more worrying about Dustin as he works overnight shift.  No more spending holidays sad because Dustin is at work.

We had planned on moving back to Wisconsin if Dustin didn't find another job.  Walgreens never allowed him to take time off between October and New Years, so we could never spend holidays with my family in Wisconsin.  His new job will allow us that time and time to go "home" during summer!  This makes me SO happy!  Maybe one day we'll have a vacation home in Port Washington?  It also means that Grandma and Grandpa "2" will continue to make visits to Arizona.  Perhaps more trips to San Diego will be in our future?!

Come December, I will be working two days a week and enjoying being a stay at home Mommy the rest of the week!  Grandma E will continue to watch Eli on Wednesdays and Thursdays, which we are so thankful for!

This week, we are looking forward to seeing all of Dustin's family for Thanksgiving!
